“Puma Energy’s challenging environment pushes you to prioritise value-adding activities. Looking at the current stature of the pricing team, I can say with certainty that we will soon become an advisory body to general managers and the sales team to help them make better pricing related decisions.

After my MBA, I started my career with the local steel sector as a pricing cell lead presenting data-backed steel price recommendations to the CEO and strategic business unit heads for the Indian market.

In search of global exposure to the commodity sector, I joined Puma Energy in June 2018. As one of the first three pricing analysts for Puma Energy in India, I visited Malawi for two weeks to help us transfer our pricing process from there to Mumbai. While in Malawi I collaborated with the team and got a closer look at how business practices are executed. Currently, I work in a great team of five handling pricing activities for five countries and Puma Aviation.

We work closely with business support and commercial managers and provide insights to key decision makers by analysing customers’ volume and margin performance. I am proud to say I have won the Quarterly Excellence Award for managing process improvement and being an asset to the pricing team.
